Cadet program
From Air Cadets to the Moon: Colonel Jeremy Hansen
Another story Cadets Canada shared, and we passed it along.
Colonel Jeremy Hansen’s path to the stars began in 1988 with 614 Forest City Royal Canadian Air Cadet Squadron, where he earned his pilot’s licence in 1992 at the age of 16. He went on to fly the CF-18 Hornet with the Canadian Armed Forces, was selected by the Canadian Space Agency, and completed astronaut candidate training in 2011.
On NASA’s Artemis II mission he will fly into lunar orbit, becoming the first Canadian to travel to the Moon. He follows others who came up through the program, including Chris Hadfield and Joshua Kutryk.
It is hard to picture a clearer example of where the Air Cadet Program can lead.
